Windmill Farm & Vineyard Engagement

I left it up to Jennifer & Jeremy to pick a spot for their engagement photos, and they did a great job in finding a beautiful location just outside of Woodland in Yolo county. Windmill Farm & Vineyard is a quaint wedding venue and it was so nice to be surrounded by olive orchards and grape vineyards. There are barns and tractors, old fences and an old porch to sit on while you gaze out at the rolling hills. This is a great spot for a country vineyard wedding! We started by the pond and worked our way up the road to watch the sunset behind the hills of Northern California wine country.

Their dog Indiana joined us, and he was very willing to take photos.

Windmill Farm & Vineyard has beautiful views in every direction! I can’t wait to go back someday and take more photos! And I cannot wait for Jennifer and Jeremy’s wedding day!

Loomis Flower Farm Inn…A country wedding venue

Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at the Loomis Flower Farm Inn. I had never been to this venue before and I was excited to see what it was all about. Not far from Sacramento, the property was perfect for a quaint outdoor wedding with all of the comforts of home. A country home that is! I loved this place and I took a few snapshots of the little vintage details that made the place unique. While I am not quite ready to post the wedding photos, I thought I would sneak in some quick photos I took while walking around. I can’t wait to photograph another wedding at the Flower Farm Inn!

The gardens everywhere made many perfect backdrops for photos. In one garden there was a rusted little vintage tricycle that caught my eye. I am sure some kiddos had fun riding this a long time ago!

The main house was amazing and the guest cottages were so cute! Perfect for wedding guests or family to stay. These fluffy little chickens were roaming the grounds!

I can imagine a yummy post wedding day brunch in this spacious dining room in the main house!

The kitchen was packed with vintage charm!

What a fun place to have a wedding!

Night of the “honey”moon
Taber Ranch
Capay, CA

So, good friends of mine got married a couple of months ago, and I really wanted to fully enjoy the wedding and not be obsessed with getting great photos.  They were married at the beautiful Taber Ranch in Capay . Taber Ranch has so much to offer–sprawling with vineyards, olive orchards, hills, and oak trees. The hike up to the stunning view and backdrop to their ceremony, was a work out to say the least. But once you got up there and caught your breath, it was quickly taken away by the golden hills.

I had to photograph a wedding on the beach in Tahoe the next day, so I brought my old camera and a lens that I wouldn’t need (you can never be too careful), and decided I would only take a few casual shots. Well, I was good and didn’t take very many. And although I may have had a few adult beverages, I actually really liked the photos I got.  Some were more like outtakes and many were just plain funny, but I got some nice shots that I felt captured the greatness of this event.  The first several were taken through tears (and a fingerprint laden lens, thanks to my 3 year old).  These are all very close to my heart and therefore being documented here so I will always remember this beautiful day.
